First Steps for Governors

We have created the following exercises to get you used to some of the standard functions that are part of the Governor package. This is a perfect introduction to the eSchools platform for new starters. If after logging in, you cannot see some of the functions listed on this page, these may need to be turned on for you - speak to an administrator at your school or use the contact page to let us know.

1. Settings

  1. Hopefully you have received an initial password from an Administrator.  Upon logging in, we urge you to change that first password to something more memorable. The first thing to do would be to Change your password to something more memorable.
  2. Next, you can customise your platform with a background.

2. Files

  1. Clicked the Shared Files folder to see if a Governor or school Administrator has added any files for you.
  2. Now, let’s create a personal folder for your own work. Click on New Folder and create a folder called “My Notes”. Add some documents here.
  3. Let’s also create a folder for collaborative work. Create another new folder to be shared with a colleague. Once made, you can add some documents to it. Now, share it with a single Governor or all Governors using the cog on the right.

3. Calendar

  1. Try adding a new event, maybe your birthday, sharing it with all Governors. You never know, they might decide to buy you a present when the day comes!
  2. Add a colleague’s calendar, so that you can see their events as well.
  3. Check your notifications to see if you have been added to any events.
